ABOUT IMS

Institute of Management Studies (IMS), a premier institute of Business Management, was established on 21 August 1969, under the aegis of the University of Indore as the Management education wing of the university.

It was named as Department of Business Management in 1974 and was granted the status of Institute of Management Studies in 1988. Over a period of time IMS has earned a reputation for academic excellence in providing industry driven and quality academic programmes in the field of Management.

IMS has been continuously working in the field of management education with the objective of creating global leaders who can navigate the ever-changing business landscape. The curriculum is constantly updated to meet the dynamic needs of industry and academia. This provides an opportunity to continuously engage in innovating curricula by envisaging current and emerging challenges and opportunities in the business environment.

Today, it has student strength of more than 1500 students studying as full-time students under different programmes. The institute also offers MBA programme for Executives along with Ph.D. in Management.

IMS has developed a strong industry-linkage that has continuously provided unstinted support and co-operation in the form of enrichment of curriculum, trainings and placements. At IMS we believe in Dedication, Determination, Discipline and Efforts. Our students are groomed keeping in mind the current needs and challenges of the corporate work environment.

Our syllabus, academic inputs and corporate lecture series enable building foundation and thought process for a successful corporate career. Each student goes through test of fire, making them fine steel, our students hail from different backgrounds like Engineering, Pharma, Biotechnology, Commerce, Arts etc. from different regions of the country. IMS offers opportunities for holistic development of students through experiential learning, various student clubs, events and engaging activities.

Institute of Management Studies, was declared as Center of Excellence (CoE) Department of Higher Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh under Madhya Pradesh Higher Education Quality Improvement Programme (MPHEQIP) a scheme of world bank on 28th November 2019.

Our Alumni base is highly enriched and diverse is positioned across the globe. In recent years one of the distinct alumni, Venkatesh Ayer, has emerged star performer of IPL and captive member of Indian Cricket Team.

The confidence of the corporate world is reflected in our excellent track record of placements which is on upsurge year on year. For batch 2021-2023, more than 75 companies participated, more than 300 students got placed till date and campus drive is still going on.
